Windsurfing: felixstowe dip Wind Direction: ne Wind Stength: f4/f5 Surf / Sea State: flat /chop Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: cloudy Max Speed: 28.12 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 15.35 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Waited 2 hrs with Swainey Squiz and Ian. It was a dire 7 kts, drizzle,
rain. Then witch doctor Ali turned up whistling all optimistic! Me and
Swainey abused him Swainey left when I made a rash bet. If bush doctor
planed I would suck his 3rd leg. He planed straight off the beach with the
resulting mad scramble.
Rigged 8.6 / 146L I knew it was too much and it was a nightmare within 15
mins. Way over out to sea and gybing. Fine tuned max down/outhaul which
help. Sea was good, the others were going well (Lord Swain came back) wind
was gusting top f4/ f5. It was a good day for speed and found a nice flat
patch 100 Mrs off the beach between kite zone and the dip. Beat for 50
Mtrs, then launch the attack broad as the flat water was only 200 mtrs. Did
that 5 times to smack the 28kt barrier. Stop the speed stuff as I fell
nearly every gybe as couldn't sheet in, and was knackered. Ian went to 5
mtr Mark 6.6 sea chopped up so packed up around 6. After a coffee changed
my mind and rigged what I thought was 7m which turned out to be 7.8 so
still over powered. ..gutted. However the wind eased thankfully so enjoyed
a late sail, great day/evening then went for steam jacuzzi till 10. ..now
well chilled! And I didn't suck anything!
